Kent Island - October 10 - 12

While Pat & Walt visited New Jersey, we went on to the Kent Island Elks Lodge. Self-described as "the friendliest lodge", they certainly were to us. The very day we arrived they had just completed RV facilities which included full cable tv and electrical hook-ups at no charge. Lodge facilities included horse shoe pits, card rooms (for your enjoyment at poker, etc.), pinball and slot machines.

Although their annual crab feast was sold out (over 300 dinners), they were kind enough to include us in their festivities. Piles and piles of crabs were consumed along with crab soup, ceasar salad, potato salad, cole slaw, sausages, beans, and more. After the crabfest, a cake auction raised an average of $35 per cake. Later, guests enjoyed casino games and dancing. What a party they put on!

On Sunday, we enjoyed watching their weekly "Turkey Shoot", where contestants vie for sausages, bacon, etc. These people can really shoot!
